Donate

The USGS Retirees Organization is a registered 501C3 nonprofit, so your donations can be a tax deductible. Most of the organizational budget goes to scholarships to help hydrologic technicians with tuition expenses for academic training to obtain new skills or to qualify for hydrologist positions. You can donate directly to our scholarship fund or general fund or for another special purpose online through Zelle or by sending a check. Donations will be acknowledged in our newsletters as instructed by the donor, including “anonymous.”.

Using Zelle

Zelle works (zellepay.com) usually through your bank’s online website and/or phone/tablet app.

Make special donations by Zelle to DuesUSGSretirees@gmail.com. Use the text section of the transfer to designate the gift to our scholarship program, to our general fund, or to a special purpose of your choice, and to identify any memorial bequest or to request anonymity.

Dues

Regular dues are $10 annually: Zelle funds to DuesUSGSretirees@gmail.com. Funds not otherwise earmarked will be applied to regular dues (extending into the future in necessary) unless otherwise notated on the Zelle transfer request.

How do I know if I owe dues to WRD Retirees?

If you receive a paper copy of the newsletter, you can find the year your dues are paid on the envelope’s mailing label. It appears in the upper right-hand corner of the label. IF you receive a PDF or link for the newsletter via email, you will also receive a document containing a list with names and the year dues are paid. You are current if the year is the current year or later. Surviving spouses do not pay dues and should be shown as XMPT. If you think an error has been made in recording your past dues payments, notify Kate Flynn at USGSretirees@gmail.com. Members may pay out multiple years in advance.

Checks can be made out to USGS Retirees; and mailed to USGS Retirees, P.O. Box 280, Herndon, VA 20172-0280. Additional contributions are welcomed and appreciated. Simply indicate the amount for dues compared to the additional contribution.
